Pick "Question" when you start a thread and the thread head gets an Answered slot. The original poster can mark any reply as the accepted answer — that reply floats to the top with a green check, regardless of how the rest of the replies are sorted.
I've answered this thread myself to show what the accepted state looks like. Notice the reply below has the check, and the head of this thread now reads "Answered".
